Homestay Provision For International Students

Duty of Care:

Riccarton High School is a signatory to the Ministry of Education Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students.

Therefore Riccarton High School is responsible for the safety, health and wellbeing of all international students while they are enrolled at this school.

In this capacity Riccarton High School has the right to intervene if it believes that any student's wellbeing, health or safety is being compromised because the level of care provided by the homestay is not meeting the standards required by the guidelines in the Code of Practice. In any such intervention the school will be mindful of the rights of all parties and the concept of natural justice.

In all such situations the school has the ultimate responsibility in the duty of care for all international students.
