NCEA Level 1

The range of subjects we offer tries to meet the individual abilities and needs of every student. A great number of combinations of subjects can be made. All students must take English and Maths. Six or seven subjects are chosen.

The National Certificate of Educational Achievement (Level 1) is the qualification at Year 11. Students will be assessed against achievement standards that specify the standard needed to gain credit, merit or excellence, or against Unit Standards which specify the work needed to reach the standard. Each Achievement or Unit Standard provides a certain number of credits should the student reach the required standard. A minimum of 80 credits must be achieved to gain a Level 1 National Certificate.
