Cultural Activities

Music thrives at Riccarton High School. Many groups, such as the jazz band, chorale, choir, concert band, chamber group and orchestra meet and perform regularly. Professional tutors, offering class-time lessons, teach interested students to play the instruments of their choice, many of which are available for hire at minimal cost. Students have regular opportunity for public performance.

Drama is both a curriculum subject and an exciting range of extra-curricular activities, including theatre-sports, Shakespeare Festivals and full school productions. Students have the opportunity to be trained in all aspects of production. Particular highlights are our involvement in drama festivals and performances for local schools.
