Can we enrol if we live out of zone? What are the priorities?

You may be able to enrol if you qualify under one of the priorities:

Priority 1: Special Programme

Under Section 11B(a)(i) Riccarton High School provides a special education unit for students with an intellectual disability. The maximum roll for this unit is 20 students. Students must be verified as being on the Ongoing Resourcing Scheme and assessed by Special Needs staff as being able to benefit from the programmes available. If there are more applicants than places, students will be selected using the following criteria, in order of importance:
- those who would most benefit from the programmes available;
- proximity to the school.

Priority 2: Applicants who have a sibling currently enrolled at the school.

Priority 3: Applicants who have had a sibling enrolled at the school in the past.

Priority 4: Applicants who are children of Board employees.

Priority 5: All other applicants
