How to Enrol

Entry requirements – We accept students between the ages of 13 and 18. While a basic level of English is required, no international English test is required prior to arrival in New Zealand. We conduct our English testing on-site and can provide intensive English classes for beginners.

Riccarton High School considers academic performance, attendance, attitude to study, and individual students’ suitability for the programme of study they are applying for.

To apply to Riccarton High School:

  • Apply for International Enrolment Online, or download a paper copy here and return to isd@riccarton.school.nz
  • Include the TWO most recent school reports from home country, including attendance rates
  • A recent photo
  • A copy of the passport photo page
  • A letter of introduction from the student
  • Any medical disclosure documents (if required)

If your application is successful, you will receive an offer letter and an invoice for the fees payable. A confirmation letter, an offer of place, and a receipt will be sent to you on payment of the invoice. Payment can be made by cash, bank deposit, or credit card (bank commissions apply).

Student Visas

If you want to study a full-time course in New Zealand that’s longer than 3 months in total duration, you’ll need a Fee Paying Student Visa.

Your student visa is normally issued for the same length of time as the study you’ve paid for.

• Depending on your visa conditions, you may be able to work up to 20 hours a week during the term and full-time over the holidays.

Visa processing times can vary. To be safe we recommend that you apply for your visa three months before your arrival date in NZ.
