We are incredibly proud of Kenta Lord, a Year 12 student whose short war film Zippo recently swept the board at the national Onscreen 2025 competition.
Inspired by Steven Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan, Kenta’s film—shot on location at Godley Head and starring his classmates—received high
praise from industry professionals, who described it as “fantastic,” “technically flawless,” and “incredible.”
Kenta received five awards, including:
-
1st Place Narrative
-
AUT Best Director
-
Best Cinematography
-
Best Visual Effects
-
Highly Commended Styling
This is an outstanding achievement that showcases the talent, creativity, and dedication thriving at Riccarton High School.
