Kia ora and welcome to Māori Language Week.

From the 10th to the 16th of Mahuru, the school will be celebrating Te Wiki o te Reo Māori.

Māori Language Week is an annual celebration of Māori culture and heritage here in Aotearoa. With this year's theme of "Kia Kaha te Reo Māori"  - "Let’s make the Māori language strong", the school will be celebrating later in the week, but in the meantime here are some Māori phrases you can use with your friends:

Or if you feel like a challenge, it's not too late to take part in the Mahuru Māori challenge, where your goal is to speak only te Reo Māori for the month of Mahuru - September.

And remember; Ahakoa iti, ākona, kōrerotia - learn a little, use a little.
