The Learning committee brings to you the Whānau Volunteering competition!
From next week, there will be a weekly Lolly prize for the Whānau class with the most volunteering hours each week (plus a special prize). The ultimate "End of Term Pizza Prize" will be awarded to the whānau class with the most volunteering hours by the end of Term 2.
Start thinking of ideas for how and where you can volunteer and record your hours in the document shared with your teachers. Good luck!
What counts for the competition?
- Something you aren't being paid to do
- Volunteering hours only count if they are hours completed during the competition and they must be at least 30 minutes long (you can round up or down to the nearest half-hour)
Things that count as volunteering:
- Gate duty
- Library service
- Open Night
- Other school activities.
- Attending committee or council meetings
- Event running
- Helping at community or religious centers
If you're not quite sure that an activity counts as volunteering, talk it over with a family member or a teacher!
