Our staff are excited to have our amazing Riccarton High School students back on site and are eager to support their ongoing achievements and be a part of their journey to success. Welcome back and a very warm welcome to our new students and their families!
Our preparation for the 2025 school year follows a detailed opening procedure. The details of this are listed below for your reference:
Monday 27 January – STAFF ONLY DAY
Tuesday 28 January – STAFF ONLY DAY
Wednesday 29 January:
· 10.00am to 12.00pm – Year 13 Training (for ALL Year 13 students)
· 12.00pm to 1.00pm – Lunch
. 1.00pm to 3.00pm – Peer Support Training for Year 13 Peer Support Leaders (meet in the hall)
· Please note: students onsite today are not required to wear school uniform
Thursday 30 January:
· 9.00am to 12.00pm – Year 9 students and other students new to Riccarton High School meet on the school field adjacent to the Vicki Street entrance for a Mihi Whakatau (students are to look for their whare flag). Following the Mihi Whakatau, students will go to their whānau clasess. All family members are warmly invited to join us for the Mihi Whakatau (9.00am to 9.45am)
· 12.00pm to 12.45pm – Lunch. New students in Years 10-12 may leave for the day
· 12.45pm to 3.00pm – Year 9 and Year 13 Peer Support Programme
· Please note: all students onsite from today must be in full school uniform – we also recommend students bring a school sunhat, details of which can be found here in our uniform guide: https://www.riccarton.school.nz/uniform/. Students will also need to bring their own lunch and a water bottle.
Friday 31 January:
· 9.00am to 12.30pm – Year 9 and Year 13 Peer Support Programme
· 1.00pm to 3.00pm – All Year levels (apart from Te Koroī students) in attendance. The whole school goes straight to their whānau class. Information about the location of whānau classes will be posted around the school and can also be found on individual timetables
Monday 03 February: All students required 8.30am to 3.00pm (please note, today is the first day for Te Koroī students)· 8.30am to 8.50am – Whānau time
. 8.50am to 9.50am – Period 1 timetabled class
. 9.50am to 10.50am – Period 2 timetabled class
. 10.50am to 11.20am – Interval
. 11.20am to 12.20am – Period 3 timetabled class
. 12.20pm to 1.20pm – Period 4 timetabled class
. 1.20pm to 2.00pm – Lunch
. 2.00pm to 3.00pm – Period 5 timetabled class
Year 9 students are not required to bring a device to school until they have been given their individual login information, which is scheduled for 10/11 February.
