Te Koroī

We provide three classes for students with special education needs in a very caring and supportive environment.

Reading, writing, mathematics, social, and independent living skills are emphasised, and mainstreaming opportunities are provided wherever appropriate.

Classrooms are purpose-built to provide the specialist facilities needed.

Specialist teachers (Kerry McCarthy & Annie King) are supported by a team of experienced learning assistants (Louise Johnson, Julian Smith, Sharon Bowles, Dianne Payne & Kiera Deehan-Scott), with senior students assisting as peer tutors.

Enrolment for Students with ORS-Funded Special Education Needs

All enrolment enquiries should be directed to the Head of Te Koroī, Kerry McCarthy (MCY@riccarton.school.nz).

All ORS-funded enrolment applications are done via our online enrolment form – please make sure you note in the ‘Is there any other information you think the school should be made aware of?’ section that you have ORS funding for your child. See our ENROLMENT page for more information.
